Sue Hornsby

Creative Director at NSPCC

Sue graduated from Northumbria University in 2006 with a First Class Honours in Graphic Design and began her career at branding agency Fivefootsix, working with varied clients ranging from Ben & Jerry's to Vita Coco and BBC Children in Need. A love of working in the charity sector led her to take a role as senior designer at the NSPCC's in-house creative team and she quickly went on to become creative director. As creative director, Sue has overseen a transformation of the organisation's creative output, including their successful rebrand in 2014. She led on the creative for the rebrand, after winning the pitch against several globally renowned agencies — a fantastic feat in a sector that often relies on external agencies rather than putting trust in their internal design team. The rebrand proved so successful that it earned the team a Fresh Award Gold for best in-house studio in 2015. She also developed the creative for the NSPCC's award winning PANTS campaign, helping to prevent child sexual abuse through a clear and simple child-friendly concept. The campaign was recognised by numerous awards including the Marketing Society, Fresh, and got into WARC's Global top 100 marketing campaigns.
